Sooooooo Busy

Hi my friends, I am sorry I have not blogged for a couple of days, I am rushed off my feet - I like it though because at least I am not bored. I have been busy trying to make some new jewellery ready for lots of events that I have coming up. 20 of my pieces are on show in the AIM Gallery in Central Milton Keynes, so I had to make some more to make up for them not being available for my events. The good news is I have added eight new items to my shops today and I hope people like them as much as I do!

I will be setting up a display in my house tomorrow as a rehearsal for my event displays and I hope to take pics and do my first video, this should be good for a laugh !! I will of course be posting it all on my blog so you can see how it all went. Sorry for the short post today but I am just so snowed under at the mo.

Here's some pics of one of my new creations anyway, I hope you like it it's called The Cafe Latte Necklace

My Ever Changing Studio

From one month to the next my studio changes, I just can't seem to stop messing with the layout. Now I have gone and moved half of it upstairs in the house in the spare room because it's warmer than my studio in the garden shed

I know it sound strange using  a garden shed as a jewellery studio but it's no ordinary shed. When we moved into our present house, it was the shed that sealed the deal. It is a large shed, though I have never measured it, I think its about 10ft x 12ft. The wall are plaster boarded covered with lining paper and I painted it baby pink! I have fourteen fitted electric sockets in there so goodness knows what the previous occupier used it for. I have a phone socket and cctv socket and a tv ariel socket, it even has its own fuse box and an installed smoke alarm! I have blue carpet tiles on the floor which are in need of renewing, laminate flooring would be nice.

It is not the lightest of studios, but the fluorescent strip lighting helps to give a natural daylight feel to it. I have two little windows in the studio and silver slatted blinds for privacy in my sanctuary :-)

Okay I had better show you all some pictures, some have been taken recently and others a while ago, you will probably see what I mean about it forever changing.

I am moving house after Christmas 2011 and I will not have the luxury of my shed anymore but I will be building a beautiful indoor studio and I have seen some lovely designs for my studio's new look.

I would like it something like this photo above, colourful yet white, country style, bright and light and storage for everything. I studied Interior Design at degree level so I should have no problems, except for cash flow of course, I can see this being expensive but great fun to do. Once I have moved I might do a step by step of how I created my new studio, do you think that would be a good idea?

My Shops

I currently showcase and sell my jewellery in 5 different shops, soon to be 6. The reason why i have so many shops is that I am trying them out-test driving them if you like. Each one has a different look and different user interface but the great thing about them is that you can buy my lovely jewellery from them :-)

I have been busy adding items to my Etsy shop and it is starting to shape up nicely, I have 20 items up for sale already and they are looking good.

Here is one of my items :-

Shades of Autumn double strand necklace

Gorgeous shades of Autumn fallen leaves teamed with copper metal top complete the Autumn feel of this gorgeous necklace.

The necklace has wired chunky beads, copper 4mm spacer beads and two types of copper chain that link it all together, One chain is a curb chain and the other chain is a handmade double link chain made from copper jump rings. The necklace has large chunky beads which are made from shell, resin, acrylic and faceted glass in shades of topaz, brown, rust, tan, olive green and moss green. This is a double strand necklace which is finished off beautifully with a large heart shaped copper toggle clasp

£17.27 GBP plus P&P (postage costs are at the bottom of the listing on Etsy)

These small pictures look a little fuzzy on here so go to my Etsy Shop and get a better view and also see them larger.

I have lots of other items in my shop including, my Rainforest garden jewellery set, chainmaille earrings and lots more

Once you have had a chance to have a look around my shop and seen my currently listed items, please tell me which is your favourite? Do you think that any pieces of my jewellery would good if I made them in another colour option as well, if so which pieces and what colours?

Give me feedback, I just love feedback :-) next time I will write about my Folksy Shop - see you soon.

About Me

Well Hi Folks, I thought I would start my blog by introducing myself and sharing a few photos with you all. I won't go into glorious detail, I will just give you a basic overview of me, Jane Marley, instead of Jane Marley Jewellery Designer.

Of course the blog is going to be mostly about my work as a Jewellery Designer but I think it's nice to know the person behind the Jewellery.

I am 46 and Married with grown up children and grandchildren and I live in Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire in the UK. I live in a two bedroom house with my Husband John and my three dogs and a cat.

So this is me!

This is my house!

I did warn you that this would be a brief introduction, that's because I want to focus on why I am really writing this blog.

I am a Jewellery Designer and I want to focus my blog on what I make, where I sell my jewellery, other talented Jewellery Designers, techniques and loads loads more. I want to run competitions and auctions and make this blog interactive by asking your opinions on different topics and items. I hope that you enjoy my blog.
