Competitions and Apologies

Well, it's been ages since I last posted and I am really disappointed with myself for not keeping my blog up to date !!! I had every intention of making some interesting, fantastic blog with tons of fun stuff and info about jewellery designs and making jewellery but distractions came along and my blog was neglected. I am hoping to rectify this now and find something to post at least five days a week !!! Right so it's Monday a good place to start.

I have been having lots of fun entering all sorts of jewellery competitions. Tyhe piece above is my entry for a competition where you have to use grey and purple. You are allowed to use any shades from the lightest lilac to the deepest violet. For they grey you can use anything from silver to charcoal grey. I enterd my design in the picture above but the competition has not been judged yet so we will see how it does. My necklace is called The Dawn of Ages and features rutilated black quartz chips, amethyst chips, gorgeous untreated amethyst nuggets, Tibetan silver beads with Celtic designs on them and a great big focal piece which is a chunky slice of purple agate. The competition is still open and can be entered here just follow the link for the rules. Purple and Grey Bead Competition
This is just one of the competitions that I have entered, there have been many. I am involved in a monthly bead challenge from a jewellery making supplier called Absolute Beads. Each month you can purchase a bag of challenge beads and you make as many designs as you want using the beads, you can also add some beads and findings from your own stash. Once the designs are all made I e-mail the photos of all the pieces. The photos of everyone's designs are then put into a photo album, all designs are annonymous until the winner is announced and then we are allowed to tag the photos of the designs that are ours. The challange pack costs £8 and is brilliant value. The prize is a £10 voucher to spend in the Absolute Beads online shop.

Sooooooo Busy

Hi my friends, I am sorry I have not blogged for a couple of days, I am rushed off my feet - I like it though because at least I am not bored. I have been busy trying to make some new jewellery ready for lots of events that I have coming up. 20 of my pieces are on show in the AIM Gallery in Central Milton Keynes, so I had to make some more to make up for them not being available for my events. The good news is I have added eight new items to my shops today and I hope people like them as much as I do!

I will be setting up a display in my house tomorrow as a rehearsal for my event displays and I hope to take pics and do my first video, this should be good for a laugh !! I will of course be posting it all on my blog so you can see how it all went. Sorry for the short post today but I am just so snowed under at the mo.

Here's some pics of one of my new creations anyway, I hope you like it it's called The Cafe Latte Necklace
